Campaign Kick-off Event - May 16th from 10 am-12 noon.

Location: The Burall Farm, 6002 Detrick Road, Mt Airy, MD

Please join us on May 16th for our kick-off event at the home of Jarrod and Becky Burall, on Detrick Road. The event will be at their Farm Stand located on the property.

Jarrod and Becky Burall are a young farm couple, who, like many farmers, need to be entrepreneurs to support their farm operation in addition to both working jobs outside their farm operation.  Jarrod and Becky had to hire a lawyer, me, to get their simple farm stand approved through the County process. This process needs to get fixed.  I bring the insight and experience working both inside and outside local government to improve these processes.

The Burall farm lies near the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project (MPRP) power line proposal, which seeks to use eminent domain to take land from Frederick Farmers and other property owners to construct this power line for Virginia's electric power needs. Frederick County Government needs to put forth a much stronger opposition to this ill-considered proposal and put County residents ahead of out-of-state power companies.
